BRISTOL WALK OF FAME

Bristol doesn't have a single, Hollywood-style "Walk of Fame" on a public street like Hollywood Boulevard, the concept has existed in a few different forms throughout the city.
The most notable version was a permanent installation at Bristol Zoo Gardens, though there are other "tributes" to the city's stars scattered across town.
1. The Bristol Zoo "Walk of Fame"
Created in 2011 to celebrate the Zoo’s 175th anniversary, this was the most official version of a "Walk of Fame."
-
The Icons: It featured 50 plaques honoring famous Bristolians, landmarks, and even animals.
-
The Selection: The public voted on the icons, which included legends like Cary Grant, J.K. Rowling, Massive Attack, and Banksy, alongside local heroes like Alfred the Gorilla and the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
-
Current Status: Since Bristol Zoo Gardens in Clifton closed in 2022 to relocate to the Wild Place Project (now Bristol Zoo Project), these plaques are no longer in their original public viewing spot.
