FOOTBALL WALK OF FAME

The world's first 'Football Walk of Fame' launched in 2016 is a permanent tribute to history's greatest players immortalised with

series of brass plaques, each bearing the names and images of football legends rendered by the renowned sporting artist Paul Trevillion.

 

Located in Cathedral Gardens, right outside the National Football Museum, features a series of permanent brass plaques set into the pavement.  

 

Each plaque features an image of a legendary player rendered by the world-renowned sports artist Paul Trevillion(famous for his "Roy of the Rovers" style).

Key Inductees: * Pelé was the first recipient of the "Legend Award"

• The entire 1966 England World Cup-winning squad.

• Icons like Cristiano Ronaldo, Eusébio, Denis Law, and Sir Bobby Charlton.

• Purpose: It served as a public tribute where fans could literally "walk in the footsteps" of the greats before heading into the museum.
